Monroe Co. Health Department Confirms Case of West Nile Virus

The Monroe County health department is reporting the county's first confirmed human case this year of West Nile Virus.

There has been only one other case confirmed in New York State. Health officials say this is time of year of highest risk for people, and it won't end until the first heavy frost.

Residents are advised to cover exposed skin -- especially around dusk and dawn -- and use insect repellent.
