Proposed Whole Foods in Brighton Clears Another Hurdle

Plans to build a Whole Foods store and other shops in Brighton have cleared another hurdle.

The Town Planning Board voted last night to approve the demolition of the existing buildings at the site on Monroe Avenue. Those include the former Mario's Restaurant, the former Clover Lanes building and the Mamasan's restaurant.

The board also approved the project’s environmental quality review, but did not vote on the preliminary site plan. Lawsuits against the development are still pending.
