Authorities Identify Woman Killed in Accident in Ontario Co.

A 74-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a rock that crashed through the windshield of the vehicle she was riding in, in the Town of Seneca.

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office say Barbara Amidon was riding in a car driven by 65-year-old Gregory Sterman when a rock went through the windshield and hit her in the head Saturday.  She was taken to the hospital but died from her injuries.

Investigators believe the rock came from a tractor trailer. But, they're trying to find out if it was on the vehicle, or on the road when it was thrown back towards Sterman's car.

Authorities are still looking for the white truck and its driver.  Anyone with information is asked to call them.
