Churchville Man Drowns on Vacation in Adirondacks

A Churchville man drowned in the Adirondacks while vacationing with his family. New York State Police said Scott Karlnoski, 43, was swimming in the area of Buttermilk Falls at Forked Lake Campground in Long Lake when he jumped into the pool base at the side of the falls. Police said he swam closer to the plunge pool and disappeared. Karlnoski was found unconscious about five minutes later in a shallow rapids area. First responders attempted CPR, but were unable to revive him.
