Rochester Police Sgt. Brett Sobieraski Running 50 hrs. For Special Olympics

A member of the Rochester Police Department is lacing up his running shoes for a good cause.

Rochester Police say Sgt. Brett Sobieraski will be running for 50 straight hours to raise awareness and funds for the 50 year anniversary of the Special Olympics.

Sobieraski will start his journey on Friday at 9 a.m. in Buffalo and won’t stop until he reaches 50 hours of run time. He’ll be running along the Erie Canal Towpath, and is expected to pass through Rochester on Saturday.

According to a post on Sobieraski’s Facebook page there will be no sleeping, sitting or resting and he will take walking breaks to eat and drink.
