The daughter of a high ranking state trooper is going on trial for the stabbing death of her boyfriend in Livingston County.
Danielle Allen is charged with manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of Marcus Postell in Avon in November 2016. At the time of her arrest, charging documents say Allen was intoxicated and later gave conflicting statements about what happened.
The jury of six men and six women will hear opening statements today. Allen is the daughter of Major Rick Allen. The sheriff's office investigated the death.
