Arrest Made Following Rochester's Latest Homicide

A Rochester man has pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges in the city's latest homicide -- the 12th in the city this year. It happened early yesterday morning at 71 York Street.

Joseph Boykins Sr., of Bay Street, is accused of shooting and killing Michael Earlsey and wounding a woman with whom he previously had a relationship.

Her wounds are not life threatening. Boykins also faces weapon and gun charges. Police say the investigation involved six search warrants and the seizure of a weapon and drugs.
