Mount Morris Man Accused in Deadly Hit and Run; Held Without Bail

The Mount Morris man accused of running down and killing a small boy last month in Rochester will remain held without bail on a second-degree murder charge.

Frank Cassata was arraigned this morning and has another court date July 12th. Cassata is also charged in an indictment with vehicular manslaughter and DWI.

Authorities say Cassata intentionally drove off Lyell Avenue to try to run down a man with whom he'd been arguing, but hit 3-year-old Amir Pallet instead. Police say Cassata left the scene, but crashed minutes later into another vehicle.
