Man Convicted of Beating Girlfriend to Death With Crowbar; to be Sentenced

A Rochester man who was convicted in the brutal killing of his girlfriend is scheduled to be sentenced this morning.

Elwell McPhail was convicted of second-degree murder at a trial in May. He was accused of using a crowbar to beat Syreeta Knight to death while she slept at their apartment on Bernard Street back on December 8th.

Police found Knight's body after getting a call from a concerned citizen from outside the state.
