Winner in 24th Congressional District Primary; 23rd Too Close to Call

posted by Newsradio WHAM 1180 -

In the Democratic Primary in the 24th Congressional District -- which extends from Wayne County to Syracuse -- Dana Balter has defeated Juanita Perez-Williams. Balter will face incumbent Republican John Katko in the November election.

Meanwhile, one Democratic primary result is too close to call. In the 23rd Congressional District -- which includes most of the Southern Tier and part of Ontario County -- Max Della Pia leads Tracy Mitrano by just 26 votes.

Absentee ballots will need to be counted to determine a winner.  The eventual winner will face incumbent Republican Tom Reed in the fall election.
