NYS Lawmakers Approve Bill Regarding Age of Teens in Tanning Facilities

A bill aimed at protecting more teens from harmful UV exposure in tanning facilities is now on the way to Governor Cuomo’s desk.

The NY State Senate announced Tuesday that they have passed legislation that would prohibit children under the age of 18 from using tanning facilities. Current law doesn’t allow anyone under the age of 17 to tan in a tanning salon.

The bill already passed in the Assembly.
