U.S. Sen. Schumer Calling for Funding to Help Stop Tick-Borne Diseases

Senator Chuck Schumer is calling for federal funding to help prevent tick-borne diseases in New York.

Schumer wants the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to dish out money to the state for surveillance and treatment.

Schumer says the CDC has received nearly one-billion-dollars in the federal budget.  He didn't give a specific amount of money he wants the agency to give to New York.
