Two Facing Charges Following Officer Involved Shooting in Rochester

The two men involved in a scuffle that ended in a shooting by a Rochester police officer are now facing charges related to the incident.

Randy Love was already wanted on a weapon possession charge. He turned himself into police and was arraigned today on a new weapon charge and a charge of resisting arrest.

Love was the man two officers were trying to arrest Sunday night on Wilkins Street. Police say he dropped his handgun during the struggle, and Christopher Turner picked it up and pointed it at the officers.

Officer Daniel Rizzo shot and wounded Turner, while Love ran off. Turner has since been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing a police officer.
