Penfield High School Teacher Charged With Giving Alcohol to Student

A teacher at Penfield High School was arrested on Tuesday after an investigation into a relationship with a student. Eric Brewer, 46, is accused of giving alcohol to a 17-year-old student last September. According to 13WHAM, it allegedly happened while the student and Brewer were at his home in Perinton. The student graduated from Penfield High School. Brewer was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child. The school district released this statement: 

"The Penfield Central School District holds its staff members to the highest ethical and moral standards and expects all employees to conduct themselves in accordance with the District’s Code of Conduct. On Tuesday, April 17, the New York State Police Department informed the District that an investigation had been opened into the alleged misconduct of a Penfield High School teacher."Last night, the NYS Police informed us that technology teacher Eric Brewer had been arrested and arraigned on charges of unlawfully dealing with a minor. The District is cooperating fully with the investigation and Mr. Brewer has been placed on administrative leave. Counselors are also being made available to any students or staff members who may need support."
