PSC Wants Seneca Army Depot Incinerator Plan Modified

New York's Public Service Commission has told the company seeking to develop a huge trash-to-energy plant in Seneca County to revise its plans.

Circular enerG plans a major garbage incinerator and power plant at the former Seneca Army Depot in Romulus. The PSC wants enerG to explain how it will overcome fierce local resistance from tourism and the wine producing community in the Finger Lakes. It also wants to know how the development will deal with local zoning laws and where the trash would come from, presumably by train or truck from outside the area.
