Syracuse area State Senator John DeFrancisco is expected to announce this evening he will seek the Republican nomination for governor.
He filed paperwork yesterday to begin raising money. He had already scheduled tonight's announcement about his intentions.
The other announced Republican candidates are Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb and former Erie County Executive Joel Giambra.
