Authorities say the man who was struck and injured by a truck driver last night in Henrietta is a deaf RIT student from California.
Deputies say 24-year-old Steven Carranco was struck around dinnertime while walking on the shoulder of East River Road when he was hit by the box truck.
The driver stopped at the scene. Carranco is in guarded condition. Traffic tickets are pending for the condition of the truck, but no criminal charges are expected.
