Charges are pending against a man arrested after a domestic dispute in Batavia.
It happened shortly before 9 a.m. yesterday at an upstairs apartment on Washington Avenue. When officers arrived, police say suspect Eddie Miles Jr. barricaded himself and his girlfriend inside and allegedly threatened to shoot the police.
Moments later, a fire broke out in the apartment. Police rescued the woman with a ladder and Miles eventually surrendered.
Both were sent to the hospital.
