Henrietta Man Accused of Falsely Reporting Robbery at Motel

A Henrietta man is accused of falsely reporting an incident at a motel. Police Jason Edwards, 34, called 911 claiming to be another individual. Edwards claimed he was locked in a bathroom at a motel on Buffalo Road and that someone with a knife was robbing him. Gates police surrounded the motel and took several people out of the room.  Investigators said the allegations were not true and Edwards actually called 911 from another location.  Police say he told investigators he did it because he knew someone who was in the motel room and wanted to see who that person was with. Edwards was charged with falsely reporting an incident in the third degree.
