The Livingston County Sheriff's Office has created a safe place for people who make deals online to buy and sell things. Sheriff Thomas Dougherty says the "Safe Transaction Zone" is outside the sheriff's office on Court Street in Geneseo. People who arrange a deal on a site such as Craigslist can meet up there, in a well-lighted area with video surveillance 24-7 and a deputy just 30 yards away at all times.
