Soldier Indicted For Murder in Shootings of Wife, NYS Trooper

A Fort Drum solider accused of shooting and killing his wife and a New York State trooper during a domestic dispute has been indicted by a grand jury. A Jefferson County grand jury indicted 33-year-old Justin Walters on 55 counts, including murder, attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Walters is accused of killing his 27-year-old wife, Nichole, with several shots to the head and body. State Trooper Joel Davis was shot and killed by Walters while responding to a shots fired call at Walters'  home in Theresa in early July.
