Automated RCSD Call Refers to Student as N-Word

A Rochester mother wants an explanation why an automated call from the city school district made a terrible mistake. Nicomi Stewart tells 13 WHAM the call was about her daughter Nicarri's absence from class at Edison Tech. The automated voice used the n-word in place of Nicarri's name. Stewart says the call was disrespectful and degrading. She says automated calls last year pronounced the girl's name correctly. Stewart says she told an administrator at Edison about the call and was told her daughter’s name would be removed from the automated calling system. However, she says she received two additional calls with the same pronunciation.
