Rochester Could Get Tesla Dealership If State Lawmakers Approve Bill

Rochester and four other upstate markets could get a Tesla dealership if state lawmakers approve a bill introduced by Assemblyman Joe Morelle.

A state law approved three years ago prohibited the electric car company from opening upstate dealerships to protect other dealers from competition.

Tesla tells a Syracuse newspaper each dealership would have about 25 employees. A similar bill is expected to be introduced in the state Senate.
