New York state officials are taking steps to remove former candidate for governor Carl Paladino from the Buffalo school board.
State Education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia has ordered a hearing for Paladino to defend himself over the racist comments he made last year in an alternative newspaper. His school board colleagues moved to have Paladino removed after he refused to resign.
The hearing will be in June.
