Public Meeting Tonight For Rochester Residents Regarding City Budget

Rochester city residents have one more chance to sound off on what they DO and DON'T want to see in the city budget this year.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Mayor Lovely Warren wants to hear from citizens before her staff finalizes the next budget. She has to close a budget gap estimated this year at $50 million dollars.

People at tonight's meeting will break into discussion groups on jobs, public safety, neighborhoods, education and efficiency and innovation.

City Council will hold two public hearings on the budget in June before taking a vote. The new budget year starts July 1st.
