New York State Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam Has Died

Pioneering New York state judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam is dead at 65. Police say her body washed up along the Hudson River in Manhattan yesterday.  

Abdus-Salaam was the first Muslim and first African-American woman to sit on the state's highest court -- the Court of Appeals.   

Authorities have not determined how she died. Media reports say there are no signs of foul play.
