Postal Service Unveils Stamp Honoring the Late Robert Panara

The Postal Service will hold a ceremony Tuesday morning at RIT to celebrate the first day of issue of a stamp honoring the late Robert Panara.

He helped found the National Technical Institute for the Deaf at RIT and taught English there for 20 years.

Karen Mazurkiewicz, with the Postal Service, says it's rare honor for a local figure.

The stamp shows Panara signing the word "respect." It is for two-ounce letters and will sell for 70 cents.
