A Steuben County woman has been charged in connection with the death of her newborn child. Britney Updyke, 30, has been charged with second degree manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child. New York State Police said the infant died in 2013. Investigators said the death was due to the combined effects of fentanyl and bath salts which stemmed from Updyke's drug use. Updyke was released and will appear in court on a later date.
