Congresswoman Louise Slaughter May Miss House Vote on GOP Health Care Bill

Democratic Congresswoman Louise Slaughter may miss the House vote later today on the Republican health care bill.

USA Today reports she has been out sick since late last week and missed a Rules Committee meeting on the bill yesterday.

A colleague tells the newspaper she was given antibiotics over the weekend for an infection and is feeling better now.

The Washington Examiner reported Slaughter was resting on a bench outside the House floor last Thursday and medics took her in a wheelchair to a more private location at the Capitol.

The vote is expected to be close, with Democrats all voting no. Slaughter's absence could give cover for another NO vote by a Republican who is reluctant to vote yes.
