Rochester Police Arrest Man In Connection With Liquor Store Homicide

Less than 24 hours after the crime was discovered, Rochester police have made an arrest in the murder of South Avenue liquor store owner Charlotte Lahr.

The Greece woman was found critically wounded on the floor of her business late Thursday afternoon...and died at the scene.

Police Chief Michael Ciminelli says they've charged 59-year-old Kevin Quander of Rochester with first degree murder and first degree robbery.

Authorities say Quander is a parolee, and was just released in January after serving nine years in prison for a first degree robbery in 2007.

He'll be arraigned tomorrow, and District Attorney Sandra Doorley says she'll take the case directly to a grand jury.
