17 Dogs Rescued from Rochester Fire

Rochester firefighters saved 17 dogs from a burning house on Home Place.

The RFD says they were called just after 1:15 pm yesterday for a report of smoke in the building, and arrived to see smoke coming from the wood-frame house.

Everyone got out of the building safely, but firefighters found there were several dogs inside.

They were able to rescue all of them while fighting the fire.

The house was heavily damaged by fire and smoke, and the Red Cross is helping the occupants with temporary housing.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
