Federal charges have now been filed against the man who prompted the Rochester General Hospital lockdown.
Steven Ploof became the subject of a manhunt after he tried to run down a Greece police officer this week, then later escaped after police brought him to the hospital.
Ploof is a retired Ogden police officer and former chief deputy of the Orleans County Sheriff's Office.
Our Bob Lonsberry says Ploof threatened the family of an FBI special agent on Monday, via a threatening letter left on the agent's porch.
That's what prompted Greece police to go to Ploof's home, and it was then that he threatened the officers, leading them to detain him.
