An Ontario County man is accused of trying to meet an underage girl for sex.
Troopers say 49-year-old Timothy Gardiner of Shortsville went to Mertensia Park in Farmington to meet whom he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
Instead, he had been communicating with an undercover officer.
Gardiner is charged with attempted rape.
