UPDATE: Rochester police have identified the driver in a hit-and-run crash on the city's northwest side that sent an officer to the hospital
33-year-old Ira Willis is charged with leaving the scene and unlicensed driving.
Police say Willis is on parole for 1st-degree manslaughter.
The officer has serious upper-body injuries.

A hit-and-run crash on Rochester's northwest side sent a Rochester officer to the hospital.
Police say a city man ran a red light at Mount Read Boulevard and Lexington Avenue just after 11 last night, and hit an RPD cruiser.
The patrol car then slammed into a utility pole.
The officer is expected to recover.
The driver was not hurt, but is charged with leaving the scene and unlicensed driving.
