Police have arrested 5 people after the murder and torture of a transgender man last seen in Canandaigua.
Law enforcement said it is the worst homicide investigation they have been involved in.
24-year-old Sam Nordquist was reported missing last month.
His body was found in Benton in Yates County after a stay at Patty's Lodge in Hopewell.
Police this morning said that they found a "deeply disturbing pattern of abuse" starting in December that resulted in his death.
Norquist came to the area for an online relationship from Minnesota.

38-year-old Precious Arzuaga of Canandaigua - 30-year-old Jennifer Quijano of Geneva
- 33-year-old Kyle Sage of Rochester
- 30-year-old Patrick Goodwin of Canandaigua
- 19-year-old Emily Motyka of Lima
