NYS AG: Trooper Shooting of Bloomfield Teen Justified

The State Attorney General's Office says a state Trooper was justified in fatally shooting a teen in Bloomfield.

Trooper Adam Latulipe was called to an address on Route 64 last November to investigate an anonymous tip that someone was talking about killing someone.

Latulipe was questioning the 17-year-old, identified only as C.W., when bodycam footage shows the teen pulled a concealed knife and lunged at him.

They fell to the ground, got to their feet, and police say the teen charged at Latulipe with the knife.

That's when the trooper opened fire.

The bodycam footage was released in February.
