Rochester police are confirming the report of a deadly attack by two pit bulls on a three-month-old baby boy.
It happened Saturday afternoon on Bidwell Terrace in the Maplewood neighborhood.
Police got a 911 call that the dogs had attacked the baby. He had severe trauma and died at the hospital.
Bob Lonsberry says efforts by firefighters to revive him were unsuccessful.
Sources tell Lonsberry that adults caring for the baby may have left him alone while they were out buying or using drugs.
Police say the Major Crimes Unit, the District Attorney’s Office, and Child Protective Services are investigating.
No charges have been filed, so far.
