UPDATE: Suspect in E. Rochester Gunfire Exchange Identified

UpDATE: Police have released the name of the man wounded in an exchange of gunfire with an East Rochester police officer.

50-year-old Raymond Noel was hit in the upper torso, after allegedly pointing his gun at Officer Brad Steve.

Charges against Noel are pending.

There is no word yet from police on the name of the man wounded in an exchange of gunfire with an East Rochester police officer.

It happened after Officer Brad Steve went to an address on Garfield Street for a noise complaint.

East Rochester Police Chief Michael Brandenburg says Officer Steve's ballistic vest saved his life.

The suspect was hit by one round and is expected to recover.

Steve is a retired Brighton Police Officer working part-time for East Rochester.

Bob Lonsberry says Steve faced another attempt on his life in 2016 when a suspect tried to run him down with a car.
