A repeat felon is accused of shooting another man in his hotel room.
Gates police say 39-year-old Remington Newton fired his gun at random inside his room at the Red Roof Inn early Saturday morning.
One of the bullets struck a man in the leg in a nearby room.
Newton faces assault, reckless endangerment, and a gun crime.
He has previous convictions for robbery and weapons possession.
