A former Brockport resident who admitted guilt in the Capitol riot has been released from federal prison.
His mother, Andrea Evert, tells Bob Lonsberry Cody Mattice has moved his family out of state and is completing his sentence at a halfway house near his new home.
Mattice pleaded guilty in April 2022 to one count of assaulting, resisting, or impeding a federal officer or employee.
The sentence last year called for 44 months of incarceration, and 36 months of probation.
Co-defendant James Mault, of Brockport, received the same sentence.
Authorities say Mattice pulled down a crowd control barrier at the Capitol, and he and Mault used pepper spray to overwhelm police.
