A Yates County man accused of sexually exploiting a young girl over a period of 7 years has been formally sentenced to 40 years to life in prison..
49-year-old Andrew Daugherty of Dundee pleaded guilty last month to predatory sexual assault against a child, predatory sex assault, sex trafficking of a child and compelling prostitution.
Daugherty admitted in court to threatening the girl with a rifle in order to rape her, and also ordered her to perform sex acts on his friends.
The investigation into Daugherty began back in October, and led to the indictments of 17 other people in the Southern Tier and in Florida.
