Animal cruelty investigators in Ontario County have arrested a young Newark couple for allegedly neglecting an emaciated pit bull that died last week.
The Humane Society says Mackenzie Clarke left the dog last Thursday night along Stryker Road in Phelps.
Authorities say it was Clarke who reported discovering the dog there.
She is charged with making a false report, and she and boyfriend Isaiah Dishaw are charged with felony animal cruelty.
