The governor is looking at using cash, rather than borrowing, to cover the remainder of the state's share of the cost of the new Bills stadium.
A Hochul spokesman tells The Buffalo News the rising interest rates make long-term borrowing unattractive.
The state's share is $600 million. $418 million is coming from payments from the Seneca Nation. And the spokesman says it is likely the remaining $182 million will come from a $6 billion pot of money created in the 2022-23 budget agreement.
