Another Push for a Bill that Seals Criminal Records

Advocates for the so-called Clean Slate bill are making another push at the state capitol.

They are planning a rally today at 11 to win support for the bill that would automatically seal criminal records to make it easier for ex-offenders to get jobs and housing.

The records would be sealed for three years for misdemeanors and seven years for felonies once a sentence is completed and the offender hasn't committed new crimes.

The proposal is included in the state Senate budget.
