The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says they stopped an ATM theft in Scottsville early this morning.
They say they caught 2 men wrapping chains around the machine at the Chase Bank on Rochester Street shortly before 3.
They were able to dislodge the ATM, and that's when police showed up.
The would-be thieves sped away in a stolen truck, with the chains still attached.
That plow truck was recovered at Browns Road and Robert Quigley.
There are no arrests yet.
