New Bill Proposed to Cancel Court Ordered Fines in the State

There is a proposal in the state legislature that would end a financial burden for people convicted of fines.

The bill would vacate all warrants and civil judgments against offenders who don't pay the court-ordered fees and surcharges that help fund the state DNA databank, parole supervision and the sex offender registry.

The bill is being proposed by progressive Democrats. But the state Sheriff's Association says it's another example of lawmakers finding ways to make life easier for criminals
