Amtrak will be getting new trains in the next few years on 14 routes -- including the Empire route serving Rochester.
The trains will debut in 2026.
They are being purchased for $7.3 billion and will offer more amenities, with more room and environmental benefits.
The new trains will replace trains that are 40 and 50 years old.
