Utica-area Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has won the Republican primary in the new 24th Congressional District.
She defeated Geneva lawyer Mario Fratto and will face Democrat Steven Holden in the November election.
New York State Republican Party chair Nick Langworthy has won the party primary in the new 23rd Congressional District.
In the current 23rd Congressional District, Republican Joe Sempolinski has won the special election to serve in Congress for the rest of this year.
He defeated Democrat Max Della Pia in the race to complete the unexpired term of former congressman Tom Reed.
