A five-year-old child is dead after a crash yesterday on Younglove Road in Wolcott, Wayne County.
State Police say a driver headed west lost control of the vehicle.
It went off the road and into a creek, where it rolled over and sank.
Troopers say seven people were in that vehicle when it hit the water.
Three were tossed clear by the impact, two were able to get out on their own and two had to be rescued.
One was five-year-old Joshua Shufelt, who died after being taken to Oswego Hospital.
The other passengers, who ranged in ages from 10-to-17, were taken to hospitals in Rochester and Syracuse.
The driver, 28-year-old Kayla Perotta of Oswego, was taken to Oswego Hospital for treatment.
At least one of the victims was seriously injured.
The others are recovering.
