DEVELOPING:
Congressman Lee Zeldin--the Republican Candidate for Governor of New York--was attacked tonight at a campaign event in Perinton. Zeldin was reportedly giving a speech about bail reform at the VFW on Macedon Center Road when a man jumped onto the stage, began yelling at Zeldin, wrestled with him and pulled out a knife. The attacker was tackled by AMVETS National Director Joe Chenelly, and was taken into custody by Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies. Zeldin was apparently uninjured.
Bob Lonsberry on-air now with the latest.
